Car and motorbike rental:
If you want to discover the green island with its exquisite rich vegetation individually then you can rent a car, a moped or a motorbike. The roadsystem is in a good condition. All main roads are paved with asphalt. So you do not have problems to reach all interesting places like Manolates, Vourliotes, Kokkari, Karlovassi, Pythagoriο, Ireon, Mili, different monasteries or the mountains of Kerkis and Ambelos. To get there you come through small valleys with ferns, plane-trees and pine-trees, cypresses and oak-trees. You see long olive groves and orange trees and vineyards. (Don/t forget your driving-licence!)

Hiking:
The island is ideal for  lovers of the natural life and beauty. The trails and the magically picturesque sites offer themselves to walking. The walk for example can take you high up into the mountains of Samos, to some of the mountain villages (for example Koumaradei), which have retained their traditional character. To hike through the green valleys flooded in vegetation will be a special experience. You stroll through long olive groves and orange trees and vineyards. (Secure footwear is necessary!)

Trips:
Different travel-agencies organize tours round the island with fully air conditioned coaches und professional guides. Also you can enjoy the ever changing view of the coastline of Samos on a cruise ship. If you like jeep-safaris you can do a trip through the unknown part of Samos. You can do a boat-trip to the island of Patmos, which is famous for its biblical history.
Picnic tours on traditional Greek fishing boats are offered too. This will be an indescribable event. You/ll sail along the south coast and you/ll stop at a calm beach, where you can swim, snorkel or just relax and sunbathe, while the fisherman prepares a delicious barbecue. Samos is very close to the Turkish coast. A unique opportunity will be the visit to the near Turkish town Kusadasi with its big bazaar. The distance from Samos to Kusadasi is only 1,2 km. You can visit from there the ancient archeological sites of Ephesos.
